 RhythmWorks! Youth Programs
Young people connect with rhythm. Let rhythm work for them!

Drum Performances
RhythmWorks! performances are interactive, and multicultural in focus. We use a variety of drums and other instruments representing a diversity of world traditions, leaving students with a better understanding of how rhythm and music connects us as a global community. Students love the opportunity to get involved in the music, clapping, dancing, and even singing along. RhythmWorks! performances are a great way for schools to celebrate diversity through music.

 Drum classes
Drumming is an excellent way for young people to improve their focus, listening, and self-discipline, while encouraging their sense of creativity. Developing an individual sense of rhythm, and learning to share that sense of rhythm brings a sense of accomplishment. RhythmWorks! youth drum classes focus on basic skills and techniques of rhythm-making. The classes also focus on learning to let go of the inner critic so that students can trust in themselves and their sense of rhythm. As skill levels increase, so does self-esteem and confidence.

Guided Rhythm Circles
Drumming is not only a creative outlet, but also a community-building activity that facilitates a sense of belonging. It is a powerful, healthy alternative to drugs and violence. Guided rhythm circles provide a real life opportunity for youth to learn communication and social skills. As their drumming skills increase, sense of self-esteem and confidence are enhanced. As a group learns to listen to and cooperate with one another to develop sound into music, they learn to build community; as seasoned students help teach new students, they develop leadership skills- invaluable lessons as they grow into the adult world.

Multicultural appreciation Rhythm Circle
Rhythm is something that all cultures have in common. Students learn multicultural appreciation by seeing, and playing, drums and other percussion instruments from around the globe. This class blends the educational component with hands-on rhythm making.
