RhythmWorks! for health
Drumming is an activity is common to most cultures worldwide. It is a form of music that is accessible to people of all backgrounds and abilities, and has been shown to benefit emotional and physical well-being. It also benefits communication among groups and individuals. Research shows that drumming:
induces theta brain waves
assists immune function and T-cell count
reduces pain
reduces stress
boosts self-esteem
Drumming is being used in various regions of the U.S. as a holistic healing tool to benefit disturbed youth, to assist individuals in mental health and addictions recovery, and to help medical patients cope with illness.
We have three years experience in facilitating rhythm circles for persons in addictions recovery.
